A long time coming, and a long wait for the people of Coventry to see their home grown band, The Enemy to play the delayed show last Saterday. The Empire is one of my favourite venues to photograph live music in. Great lights and excellent sound. Such a difference from when the building was a pool hall a few years ago. The crowed was very quickly warmed up by the support acts. With band April killing it as always as they often have on this Farewell tour. As always making sure I grab a close up of George Cooke before he jumped off stage as I only just managed to catch the last two songs of their set. Check out Aprils music here! Festival season is slowly drawing to a close and with September brings crowds of new students to every corner of the UK but we have one more festival to work on before that happens. I have been lucky enough already to have filmed a three day wedding festival and again heading out with my main man Jody Kirton we will be hitting up BESTIVAL alongside Area 51 for the next 5 days shooting video and photos of the whole event! SAAAAAAFE. So I shot with the stunning Izabella on Tuesday and got to shoot a bit of location work. Don't get me wrong I love shooting studio but you have to enjoy the challenge of finding or creating beautiful light on location. The image above was shot with my beautiful canon 16 - 35 F2.8l. and although is a expensive lens I have seen a 17 - 40 F4 for £350 which would bring comparable images! I tested the shot to start with my 540exii flashgun on a tripod camera left, and although it made for a dramatic shot there was such stunning light available I went with this light in the end.
